J. David Ruffner II practices in the areas of corporate and business law, corporate and individual taxation, health care law, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, estate and succession planning, contracts, financing, and nonprofit organizations. Mr. Ruffner has successfully negotiated and worked on numerous start-ups, acquisitions, mergers, and sales and purchases of companies in a broad range of industries and businesses, including manufacturing, service and professional companies, health care organizations, medical practices, and tax-exempt entities. His experience includes tax and business representation and consulting on a broad variety of matters as both an accountant (prior to becoming an attorney) and as an attorney since graduation from law school in 1994. Mr. Ruffner is admitted to the Ohio Bar, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He graduated from Wright State University in 1983 with a dual major in accountancy and finance, and earned his J.D. from the University of Dayton in 1994, where he was Articles Editor of the Executive Board of the University of Dayton Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Board. Mr. Ruffner is a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Dayton Bar Association, and the American Health Lawyers Association, and is also a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants.Mr. Ruffner�s civic involvement includes past and current service on several charitable and civic boards of trustees. He served in the past on the boards of the Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio (President and Chairman of the Board), Kids� Turn, Oakwood Boosters� Association, and the Senior Resource Connection (Executive Committee). Mr. Ruffner currently serves on the boards of Advocates for Basic Legal Equality and Legal Aid of Western Ohio (Treasurer and Executive Committees for both) and Unified Health Solutions. |
