David M. Desmarais, CPA, MST, MBA is a Partner in the Tax Services Department at Carlin, Charron & Rosen, LLP, working in the Private Client Services group. He earned a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts. Mr. Desmarais also earned a Masters of Science in Taxation from Northeastern University and a Masters of Business Administration from Nichols College. Mr. Desmarais has more than nine years of experience, focusing primarily on high-net-worth individuals, closely-held businesses, private foundations and trusts. His areas of expertise include general income tax planning, estate and gift tax planning and charitable gifting strategies. Since joining the firm in 1998, Mr. Desmarais has spearheaded the legal and financial initiative for the formation of the CCR Charitable Foundation, Inc, formalizing and categorizing CCR's philanthropic effort, and currently serves as a director. Mr. Desmarais handles the scheduling of all tax work for CCR's Private Client Services Group. Mr. Desmarais is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.
