Dr. Floyd has over twenty-five years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently as Vice President of Discovery Chemistry at Bristol-Myers Squibb. In this position, Dr. Floyd had responsibilities for a multi-site organization which produced over eighty drug candidates in the areas of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, neuroscience, infectious disease, oncology and inflammation. Additionally, Dr. Floyd established groups focused on the development of high throughput approaches to compounds synthesis, purification and analysis. Dr. Floyd was also responsible for establishing and maintaining multiple discovery and technology-based alliances with groups in the United States, Europe, and India. Dr. Floyd has published and lectured extensively on many aspects of drug discovery and on the many issues impacting productivity in the pharmaceutical industry. Trained as an organic chemist, Dr. Floyd received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan, followed by an NIH postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University. |
