Mr. Rice has handled civil appeals and writ petitions in all California appellate courts and in numerous other appellate courts throughout the United States. He is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court and most of the federal Circuit Courts of Appeals, and he has participated in appellate matters in a number of state appellate courts as well. Coordinates Appellate Litigation Nationwide. Mr. Rice coordinates appellate litigation for a major foreign motor vehicle manufacturer wherever such matters arise across the country. Trial Court Briefing and Analysis. In addition to handling matters in the appellate courts, Mr. Rice is also regularly involved in trial strategy and major trial court briefing. His role is to assist in obtaining advantageous rulings in the trial court and to position the case for possible appeal however the trial court proceedings are ultimately resolved. Strategic Analysis and Coverage Opinions. In addition to handling matters in litigation, Mr. Rice also assists clients in evaluating issues that might some day require litigation. His goal is often to determine how to avoid litigation. |
