David M. Beckwith is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP, based in the San Diego office. David is a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department and focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on patent and trade secret matters in the electro-mechanical, biotechnology, life sciences and medical device fields.
David has represented numerous clients at trial in patent litigation matters involving peptides, cell surface receptors, DNA probes and bioinformatics chip technology. Representative electro-mechanical and medical device experience includes patent litigation in the hemodialysis and diabetes fields. David�s appellate practice experience includes the representation of medical device and biotechnology companies before the Federal Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
Prior to joining McDermott, David practiced complex intellectual property and business litigation in Los Angeles and San Diego. He has handled a wide variety of litigation matters relating to trade secrets, civil RICO, antitrust and unfair competition. David is a frequent lecturer on various issues relating to patent litigation and licensing.
