David Hariton joined Sullivan & Cromwell in 1985 and has been a partner since 1994. His practice deals primarily with federal income tax matters, with particular emphasis on financial instruments and transactions and cross-border investment. He is generally considered a leading expert in these matters and has published more than 40 articles and reports on the subject. Mr. Hariton is on the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association Tax Section, and he served as Chairman of the Section in 2005. He is a member of the Tax Forum, the Tax Club and various other professional associations, and he lectures before members of the government and for the Practising Law Institute, the NYU Institute on Federal Income Taxation, the University of Chicago Law School, and various other groups. Mr. Hariton graduated from Stanford University in 1981 and Stanford Law School in 1985, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and served as research and teaching assistant to Professor Myron Scholes. |
