Professional Experience: David has over 20 years experience in the areas of supply chain management, lean manufacturing, work flow design, process reengineering, pre-production engineering, production control planning and warehouse manufacturing. David was one of the original partners of the Toyota Consulting Group, a business unit within Toyota dedicated to implementing the Genuine Toyota Production System (TPS) in non-automotive manufacturing and distribution companies. David has performed extensive process design work for new and existing production operations leading to significant savings. He helped Toyota redesign its vehicle distribution system to experience improved market responsiveness and reduced costs by an estimated $240mm; led Oakley, Inc.'s venture into the performance footwear business, reducing costs by 50% within two months, while improving quality levels by 20%; and implemented a just-in-time (JIT) factory floor design that reduced cycle times from six hours to less than one hour, among many other operational transitions. Ameron, Weyerhaeuser, Overland Data and Steelcase are just of few of his former clients. David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Carleton College, Northfield, MN with specialized studies in monetary theory, public finance and international trade. He is a Toyota- certified instructor of TPS, Six Sigma Black Belt, Board Member of The Distribution Management Association, and a former Secondary Mathematics School Instructor.
