David Sturgis is the president of FARA Risk Control. He is responsible for the safety and Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) consulting, as well as the Premium Audit division and the AuditExpert product. Sturgis has twenty-five years experience in safety management and accident prevention. He began his career with United General Insurance Company and Gray and Company, Inc. His expertise is in working with oil field contractors, chemical manufacturers, shipbuilding and repair, general construction, fabrication, public entities, hospitals and wood products. He is formally trained in respiratory protection instruction, heavy equipment safety instruction, rigging and wire rope safety, drug abuse counseling, development and implementation of safety programs, accident investigation, rig inspection, developing loss analysis surveys and developing employee orientation programs. Sturgis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in health and safety with a minor in mathematics from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He is designated as an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) by the Insurance Institute of America, Inc. Sturgis is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and the Acadiana Safety Association. |
