David Carey is President and Chief Executive Officer of Outrigger Enterprises Group.
Mr. Carey started his law practice in 1982, specializing in corporate and real estate law at the Honolulu law firm of Carlsmith Wichman Case Mukai and Ichiki. He handled several hotel and real estate acquisitions, as well as the overall corporate restructuring for Outrigger Hotels, one of the firm's major clients at that time. Mr. Carey subsequently went to work directly for Outrigger Hotels as Executive Vice President and General Counsel in 1986. He was named President in 1988, and Chief Executive Officer in 1994.
Mr. Carey is a member of numerous business and community organizations, including the Foundation for the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies, trustee of the Blood Bank of Hawaii, Chief Executives Organization, Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Council, Hawaii Hotel & Lodging Association, chair of the Hawaii Business Roundtable, Hawaii State Bar Association, trustee of Punahou School, University of Hawaii College of Business, Urban Land Institute and the Young Presidents Organization. He is an avid golfer, an occasional tennis player and a retired soccer player.
Mr. Carey has a B.S. in electrical engineering from Stanford University, a J.D., cum laude, and an M.B.A. with distinction from Santa Clara University. He was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. |
