David Mohler is vice president and chief technology officer for Duke Energy. He is responsible for the development and application of technologies in support of Duke Energy�s strategic objectives. He was named to his current position in October 2006.
Most recently, Mohler served as vice president of strategic planning for Duke Energy. Prior to the merger between Duke Energy and Cinergy, he served in the same role for Cinergy. Mohler has operational experience in both nuclear and fossil power generation, as well as experience in corporate marketing, human resources and business development. While at Cinergy, he led the assessment and redesign of capital allocation and processes. Prior to that, he served as general manager of human resources and established the MBA rotational program.
Before joining Cinergy, Mohler was employed by Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G). He served on the executive team that developed PSE&G�s first deregulated retail subsidiary.
Mohler earned a bachelor of arts degree from Indiana University, a bachelor of science degree from the University of the State of New York, a master of arts degree from Xavier University of Cincinnati, and a master of science degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He also completed the Columbia University Marketing Management Program and Penn State University Executive Development Program.
Duke Energy, one of the largest electric power companies in the United States, supplies and delivers energy to approximately 4 million U.S. customers. The company has approximately 36,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity in the Midwest and the Carolinas, and natural gas distribution services in Ohio and Kentucky.
