David Boehnen serves as executive vice president for SUPERVALU, a position he has held since 1997. Boehnen oversees legal, real estate, corporate development and government affairs. He also is responsible for guiding the strategy and development of SUPERVALU�s produce initiative, W. Newell & Co. Additionally, Boehnen is chairman of the screening committee, which approves all capital for independent and corporate retail projects. Boehnen joined the company in 1991 as senior vice president, law and external affairs. Previously, he served as vice president, administration for Supercomputer Systems, Inc. from 1990 to 1991. Prior to 1990, he was a partner at the Dorsey & Whitney law firm in Minneapolis from 1971 until 1989. Boehnen earned a J.D. with honors from Cornell University Law School in Ithaca, New York, and an A.B. degree from Notre Dame University in Notre Dame, Indiana. He currently serves on the board of trustees of The Minneapolis Institute of Arts, board of trustees of The Guthrie Theater and the board of governors of the University of St. Thomas Law School. He also serves on the advisory council of the University of Notre Dame�s Art and Letters College and is a former member of the board of directors of Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of St. Paul and Minneapolis and former member and chair of the Law Advisory Council of Cornell University. |
