David Diamond is currently Chief Operating Officer for Tourtellotte Solutions with responsibility for all business operations within the firm.Prior to Tourtellotte, Mr. Diamond was the Chief Operating Officer and founder of Amperion Inc, a Broadband Over Powerline (BPL)/Wireless firm. The company provides Voice Over IP, Internet and Video service over a combined infrastructure of powerlines and WiFi access points mounted on Utility assets. Amperion raised over $33M in capital and has deployments worldwide with strong initiatives in India, Africa and Southeast Asia. Prior to Amperion, Diamond was Managing Director, Redleaf Group Boston, founding that office in August 2000. Redleaf Group is a VC firm investing in internet, software, telecommunications and security technologies and was established by founders or early-stage executives of Netscape, Silicon Graphics, and Apple. Amperion is an investment of Redleaf. Prior to Redleaf, David was General Manager, Corporate Technology Planning for GTE and later for Verizon, where he helped develop Verizon�s Technology Strategy and led the technology portion of the Bell Atlantic/GTE merger transition and planning. He entered this role from BBN where he was General Manager for Emerging Business Operations, charged with spinning businesses out of BBN technology developments. Previously, Mr. Diamond served as President and CEO of MicroE Defense and Aerospace (MEDA), a start-up firm in Natick, MA, and before that spent 16 years in senior positions in the Dept of Defense. In these roles Mr. Diamond led 300+ software developers and 500+ personnel, bringing dozens of defense systems (visualization, EW/RSTA, C4I) to market introduction. Mr. Diamond was also the US representative to France, Germany, Sweden, UK, Korea, Canada, Australia and Israel in several narrow technical domains relating to defense communication technologies. David serves on several Boards and was featured on the cover of Fortune Magazine as an internet-savvy operations executive in the summer of 1999.
David Diamond holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, and a BS & MS in Electronic Engineering from Monmouth University. He also holds a master�s degree (MBA) in the Management of Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. David has been married to Marcy, a CPA, for 20 years and has 2 young sons, Joshua (14) and Zachary (11). David counts automotive racing and skiing among his passions. |
