David Etherington is a recognized expert and renowned scholar in the fields of artificial intelligence and reasoning. Etherington received his Ph.D. in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from the University of British Columbia and was a member of the Artificial Intelligence Principles Research department of AT&T Bell Laboratories. Etherington co-founded the University of Oregon's Computational Intelligence Research Laboratory (CIRL) and currently serves as Research Professor and Director of CIRL. Etherington has published extensively, including a book on nonmonotonic reasoning. He was also founding chair of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) Working Group on Knowledge Representation, serves on the editorial board of Computational Intelligence and previously served on the editorial board of the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research. |
