David Goldman was born on February 17, 1943 in Montreal, Quebec. He attended McGill University and graduated in 1965 with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering, and received an MBA from Concordia University in 1980. Following 35 years of senior executive leadership in the mining industry he is currently acting as a management consultant to industry and is Executive Chairman of Copernic Inc., a NASDAQ listed small cap technology company.
Previously, over 35 years he has occupied several senior management positions at Noranda Inc. including:
> Senior Vice-President, Metallurgical Operations, Noranda Minerals Inc. (1989-1991)
> Executive Vice President, Metallurgical Operations, Noranda Minerals Inc. (1991-1994)
> President and Chief Executive Officer of Noranda Metallurgy Inc. (1994-1997) and
> Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Noranda Inc. (1997-2001).
Mr. Goldman is currently a director of SNCLavalin Inc. (TSX), Jaguar Nickel Inc. (TSX), Copernic Inc. (NASDAQ), and Workbrain Inc. (TSX). He is Chair of Accurcast, a privately held aluminum die caster supplying North American automobile manufacturers. He recently completed his term as Chair of the Faculty of Engineering Advisory Board of McGill University and is a past Chair of the John Molson School of Business (Concordia University) MBA Case Competition Advisory Board. He has been a director of the following TSE corporations: Falconbridge Limited, Noranda Forest Inc., Tritech Ltd. and Phoenix Life Sciences Inc. |
