Presently, David is the publisher and editor of FltTechOnline. David founded Air Economics Group in 1994 after retiring from Northwest Airlines. He has thirty-three years of experience as a line pilot, instructor pilot, and check pilot on nine different aircraft. At Northwest, Haapala oversaw the introduction of the B-757, A320 and B-747-400 aircraft. David helped drive Northwest�s partnership with the industry to develop the operational concepts and certification philosophy for airline head-up displays, enhanced vision and electronic information management. He is a frequent presenter at airline industry conferences worldwide and received the Aviation Week Laurel in 1994 for his leadership in enhanced vision systems. |
