David M. Harris, 44, is Senior Vice President of Global Business Services (GBS), responsible for the effective management of the procurement spend and development of Go-To-Market opportunities with suppliers, partners and customers. The GBS organization acts as a catalyst for the development and implementation of SMI global resourcing strategies. These models increase workforce flexibility and scalability by leveraging the best talent and skills available worldwide. Mr. Harris and his team works closely with the business units and functions to ensure that their resourcing strategies are developed and implemented globally.
Prior to assuming this role, David was Senior Vice President of Workplace Resources, responsible for the management of Sun's $3 billion global real estate portfolio. He successfully architected the Workplace Resources organization to deliver significant contributions to Sun's performance through the development and implementation of innovative workplace strategies. Under his leadership, the Workplace Resources organization completed a number of key cost reduction initiatives, and positioned Sun as a thought leader in the corporate real estate community. David joined Sun in 2000 as Senior Director of the WR Advanced Planning Group. Prior to joining Sun, he held numerous management roles at Ameritech and Pepsi-Cola.
A native of Long Island, New York, David earned an M.S. in Real Estate Development and Investment from New York University, and an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Howard University.
