David Hoffer brings more than 20 years of middle-market transactional and operating experience to Mirus. Before joining the firm, he was COO of a venture-backed software company developing innovative solutions for online contract negotiation. Prior to that, he served as COO and General Counsel at a pioneering provider of end-to-end out-sourced e-commerce services. He recruited a complete executive team and managed internal operations, strategic alliances, and legal affairs through a turn-around and rapid growth, ultimately negotiating over 35 transactions for the company.David practiced law at Perkins Coie LLP and also provided negotiation and dispute resolution consulting with Endispute, Inc. Having honed his negotiation skills as a lawyer, entrepreneur, executive, and trainer, he also lectured and taught negotiation and dispute resolution at Harvard Law School and the University of Washington. In 1985, he co-founded TreeAge Software, Inc., a developer of highly acclaimed software for professional decision support, where he served as President and Chief Operating Officer.David is a graduate of Harvard College, Harvard Law School, and the Harvard Business School. He has been admitted to the practice of law in the states of Washington and Massachusetts, and he holds Series 7, 24 and 63 certifications from FINRA. David belongs to the Boston chapter of ACG, and is a member of the Harvard Business School Association of Boston.In his spare time, David serves on the board of the Ninevah Foundation, a land trust dedicated to preserving forestland in Vermont. He enjoys hiking, squash, and folk music; and lives with his wife, daughter, and son in Sudbury, Massachusetts. A former singer in an a capella group, an acoustic trio, choral groups, and a rock band, David has happily redeployed his musical experience into singing lullabies to his kids. |
