Professor Hornby is currently Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the Krebs Institute, University of Sheffield. Hornby also serves as Secretary to the Krebs Institute, and is a Visiting Scientist in the Department of Molecular Biology at the Scripps Research Institute, San Diego, California. Hornby has published over 60 papers, has co-authored one book, and has co-invented patents with the founders of PhyNexus, Inc. on nucleic acid separations, and possesses extensive biochemistry and molecular biology expertise on proteins, protein interactions, and the biological interface between the genome and the proteome. Hornby has also served as Director of the Transgenomic Research Laboratory, thus providing him with significant experience in academic-industrial relations. |
