As chief technical officer (CTO) and senior vice president - Worldwide Technical Operations, David Lauderdale is responsible for Worldspan�s worldwide data center operations; communications network planning and engineering; e-commerce infrastructure engineering; and large server computer systems software, storage and infrastructure planning and management. Lauderdale�s focus is on setting a strategy for Worldspan's technical architecture that allows for the latest development tools while maintaining high security, availability, efficient performance and low costs.
His responsibilities also include the migration to a second data center to provide for improved disaster recovery. Prior to taking his current post, Lauderdale served as vice president Worldwide Technical Operations.
Previously, as director Worldwide e-Commerce and Communications Infrastructure, Lauderdale led a project team to TCP/IP-enable Worldspan�s global distribution network, resulting in significant product improvements and major reductions in infrastructure costs. Earlier, as director Communications Software, he managed the e-Commerce Server Complex, along with mainframe communications software and hardware development, and implementation and maintenance activities.
Before joining Worldspan in 1993, Lauderdale served as manager Technical Services for the PARS Service Partnership. He began his career in computer systems management in 1984 as a systems programmer for DST Systems Inc.
A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Lauderdale now lives in Peachtree City, Georgia, with his wife, Jacqueline, and their sons, Bradley and Scott. Lauderdale holds a private pilot�s license and is an enthusiastic golfer. |
