Dr. David Lee, has more than 30 years of business experience in the software industry. His areas of expertise include:
Engineering the sales and marketing process;
Implementing CRM solutions.
Efficiently and effectively automating sales and marketing departments;
Developing innovative strategic marketing plans; and,
Dr. Lee is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the University of Northern Virginia, a member of the Board of Trustees of Myers University, on the Board of Advisors to ECPI and was also adjunct faculty for George Mason University.
He founded Vertical Marketing, Inc., as a home-based business in 1985 and has grown it to a force in the CRM industry with offices in 6 cities world wide. It is profitable, debt-free, and growing. It has won numerous industry awards and certifications, and has employed students in the UNVA work-study program.
Through careful cash management, insightful resource allocations, and faith in the future of the economy, Dr. Lee guided VMI through the post 9/11 recession in the US. VMI survived where more than 90% of its competitors did not. During this time there were few customers to be found, so VMI directed its engineering resources toward developing its own CRM program. The design is based on decades of experience working with CRM clients, and has been very well received by the market. As a result, VMI is experiencing unprecedented growth and profitability. It is a textbook small business case study.
Dr. Lee is a recognized speaker and thought leader in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) industry. He wrote Microsoft CRM for Dummies, and was the technical editor for GoldMine for Dummies. He is a regular contributor to several CRM publications. Mr. Lee is one of only a few trainers in the world selected by FrontRange Solutions to certify other dealer/trainers as Authorized GoldMine Trainers. He has produced a very successful set of GoldMine training video tapes and training materials and has developed many of the Microsoft CRM training materials under contract to Microsoft.
He has customized CRM systems for more than 1,000 organizations including the US Navy, US Senate, US Department of Agriculture, Marriott, the Neilson Companies, SunTrust Bank, BB&T Bank, and others. He is a certified sales process consultant, and has certifications for most of the primary mid-market CRM solutions.
Before founding Vertical Marketing, Dr. Lee served as Marketing & Support Manager, VP of Marketing, VP Sales, and President in such organizations as Rand Teleprocessing, Barrister Microsystems (a leader in law firm automation) and Market Wise Inc., and as an officer in the US Army. Dr. Lee received a Doctorate in Human Sciences from the American University at Girne. |
