David Mahoney was appointed to Symantec's board of directors in April 2003. He previously served as co-CEO of McKesson HBOC, Inc. and as CEO of iMcKesson LLC from July 1999 to February 2001. Mahoney joined McKesson in 1990 as vice president for Strategic Planning, and was responsible for planning and corporate development. He had overall responsibility for McKesson's strategic relations with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, was responsible for the establishment of the Pharmaceutical Partners Group at McKesson, and the launch of a new generics program.
Prior to joining McKesson, Mahoney was a principal with McKinsey & Company from 1981 to 1990. He serves on the board of directors of Corcept Therapeutics, Inc., Tercica, Inc., KQED, Live Oak School, SFMOMA, and Mercy Corps.
He has a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and a master's of business administration from Harvard University. |
