David Semaya has overall responsibility for the development of BGI's business in Europe and Asia (ex Japan) and is a member of BGI's Global Executive Committee. He joined BGI in May 2004 and was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of BGI Japan Trust & Banking Co. Ltd. in Tokyo. Under David's leadership, BGI Japan's client franchise and assets have grown substantially, and the business has won numerous awards for client service excellence. Prior to joining BGI, David was President of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers Co., Ltd. Japan, where he was responsible for all of Merrill Lynch's asset management activities in Japan. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch Investment Managers in 1998, David held various positions with Merrill Lynch in Sales & Product areas. David received his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Florida in 1984 and a Master's Degree in Education from Temple University in 1990. David has completed the Wharton School Executive Program in Pension Fund Management and the Stanford Business School ? NUS Executive Program in International Management. He also has served in the board of the CFA Institute in Japan. |
