David Stapf was named President, CBS Paramount Network Television, in September 2004. He reports to Nancy Tellem, President, CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group. In his position, Stapf is responsible for overseeing all of the studio's program development and production for series and television movies for the broadcast, basic cable and premium channel markets. Under Stapf's leadership, CBS Paramount Network Television has become the one of the largest producers of primetime programming with 20 shows for CBS, The CW, NBC, USA Network and HBO. The diverse roster of popular and critically-acclaimed series includes CBS's phenomenally successful CSI franchise; NCIS, the fastest-growing drama on a major network; NUMB3RS, Friday's top-rated show; NBC's top-rated series MEDIUM, starring Emmy Award-winning actress Patricia Arquette; the critically acclaimed comedy EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS, from comic Chris Rock; GIRLFRIENDS, which ranks among the top shows among African-American viewers; and THE 4400, USA Network's top-rated sci-fi drama. |
