Prior to forming Waring & Associates, Ltd. in 1999, he worked eight years for two of the leading international executive search firms, Russell Reynolds Associates and also Korn/Ferry International. He was a key member of their respective global Advanced Technology, Industrial, and Energy practices. Before transferring to Chicago, Waring worked four years in Hong Kong where he completed numerous searches throughout Asia.

Immediately prior to entering executive search, Mr. Waring was the Managing Director of a Hong Kong-based company that developed business and distributed products & services to China, India, and other Asian countries. His clients included electronics, software, and custom machinery companies. Earlier, he worked for General Electric�s Power Systems and Drive Systems businesses, advancing through service, projects, marketing, sales and business development positions. He developed expertise in advanced industrial control systems, infrastructure projects, and power generation equipment. Earlier, Mr. Waring worked for Monsanto in a regional sales role of specialty chemicals including pharmaceutical, fine, electronics, food, water treatment, and industrial applications. His career also includes engineering and operations positions with Xerox and Corning.

David Waring earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Cornell University�s Johnson School. He is active in several service and professional organizations, including being the current President of the Cornell Johnson School Association of Chicago and the Immediate Past President of the Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club.
