A pioneering engineer and successful software entrepreneur, Warthen has been at the forefront of developing innovative software technologies for more than 20 years. Renowned CTO and co-founder of Ask Jeeves, the first natural language search engine, Warthen created Jeeves' unique human-centric approach to information retrieval and user query analysis. At the same time, he piloted the company from startup to a wildly successful publicly traded global company, which ranked among the top 15 Internet sites.
Most recently Warthen was CTO of Global Streams, an innovator in digital video processing. He was the original architect for its new general video conferencing product, which led to the company's successful spin out of the Vibe Solutions Group. Warthen earned a B.A. in both Computer Science and Biology at UC San Diego, and did his graduate work at U.C. Berkeley School of Information. |
