Davina Garrod is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery UK LLP, based in its London office. She is a member of the EU Competition Group, where her practice focuses on all aspects of EU/UK competition law, including advising on M&A (including multi-jurisdictional filings and risk arbitrage), distribution strategies, cartels, technology licensing, investigations by regulators, State aid, EU public procurement, compliance programmes and, litigation before the European and UK Courts. She also provides strategic, regulatory advice in connection with inter alia, telecoms, broadcasting and IT.
Davina has worked in Washington DC where she provided US antitrust advice on a number of deals, produced an econometric study in the context of U.S. litigation and participated in International Competition Network merger control projects. Davina has also worked in Brussels.
Davina regularly writes articles for a range of titles. She has spoken on competition/regulatory issues at various fora, including at the 2006 Licensing Executives Society International Pan-European Conference.
Prior to joining the Firm, she was seconded to the Independent Television Commission, where she worked on the Carlton/United/Granada Competition Commission merger investigations, wrote the joint OFT/OFTEL/ITC Digital TV study for the UK Government.
