Dean C. Oestreich is president of Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. and vice president and general manager DuPont.
He joined Pioneer in 1974 as a corn breeder. Mr. Oestreich held positions in Information Management for Research, North America Sales and Supply Management between 1980 and 1990. He became director of Worldwide Parent Seed in 1990. After three years in this role, Mr. Oestreich was named Supply Management director responsible for global supply/demand planning and for supply operations in Latin America, Africa, Asia, Middle East, and Pacific.
He was named vice president and director for Africa, Middle East, Asia and Pacific operations in 1999. He became vice president and director of Supply Management in 2001 and was named vice president and business director, North America Operations in 2002. In January 2004, Mr. Oestreich became the 10th president of Pioneer.
He is a director-at-large for the American Seed Trade Association, a director for the Chinese Cultural Center of America, and an advisor to the Iowa State University chairperson for Sustainable Agriculture.
Born in 1952, he received a degree in agronomy from the University of Minnesota. |
