Deanna M. Petersen is a broadly skilled senior executive who brings more than 14 years of worldwide business development experience to Antigenics. Ms. Petersen is responsible for all licensing opportunities for the company, and provides leadership in strategic planning, global business development, contract negotiation and intellectual property development. Formerly, Ms. Petersen was vice president of business development at Coley Pharmaceutical Group, where she was part of the core executive management team. Ms. Petersen helped build Coley from conception into a rapidly growing enterprise. In 2001, she structured and negotiated the fourth largest product licensing deal in the industry that year with Aventis Pharmaceuticals for first-in-class asthma and allergic rhinitis products based on Coley�s novel CpG immune technology.
Prior to Coley, Ms. Petersen worked at the University of Iowa as director of technology transfer. She also conducted research for several years at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. She has served on the board of directors for the Boston chapter of the Healthcare Businesswomen�s Association and on the board of directors for both the Iowa Biotechnology Association and the Iowa City Community School District Foundation. She has also held positions on the State of Iowa�s marketing and biotechnology advisory committees. Ms. Petersen received her bachelor�s degree in biology from Iowa State University and an MBA from the University of Iowa. |
