Deirdre Carey Brown was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1999 and Texas Bar in 2005. She is also admitted to all Federal Courts in Louisiana, the Southern District of Texas and the Western District of Texas.
She graduated from Michigan State University, the Marine Corps Officer Candidate School and Tulane University School of Law. While at Tulane, she participated in the Ruby R. Vale Corporate Law Moot Court Competition in Delaware as a brief writer and oralist; interned with the City of New Orleans Human Relations Commission; served as law clerk to the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board; and, interned in Senator Breaux�s New Orleans office.
Deirdre�s experience also includes serving as a law clerk to the Hon. Elizabeth A. Pickett of the Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeals; and, teaching Business Law at McNeese State University and paralegal studies at Cameron College. In 2001, Deirdre was recognized by the Business and Professional Women of Louisiana as the Louisiana Young Careerist of the Year. She has extensive bankruptcy experience and has represented Chapter 7 panel trustees and Chapter 11 liquidating trustees.
She is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Moller-Foltz Bankruptcy Inn of Court, Houston Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association and the New Orleans National Association of Women in Construction. She is a former board member of: the New Orleans Association of Women Attorneys; and, Jefferson Parish Bar Association Young Lawyers. She was appointed by the Mayor of Friendswood, Texas to serve on the Community Economic Development Committee and served as the Chair of the Committee prior to returning to New Orleans. She actively volunteers in community organizations.
