Mr. Jordan�s practice involves client counseling, patent prosecution and litigation. His extensive counseling experience has involved responding to cease and desist letters, rendering opinions on patent validity and infringement, and conducting due diligence reviews for licensing, purchasing and pre-filing investigation purposes. He has served as outside counsel for leaders in the electronics, telecommunications and automotive industries and as in-house counsel for a major microprocessor manufacturer, where he managed the mobile platforms IP portfolio and conducted in-depth patent analysis for licensing negotiations and related transactions.
Mr. Jordan also has substantial experience in all phases of domestic and foreign patent prosecution, including reexamination proceedings. He has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in the electrical, mechanical, software, biomedical and consumer product technologies for many years, and has successfully appealed several cases to the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences. The technologies with which Mr. Jordan has dealt include mobile processor power management, voice over IP (VOIP), radio frequency identifier (RFID), wireless networks, electronic design automation software, speech recognition systems, automotive onboard diagnostics, optical networking architectures, ground fault circuit interrupters, semiconductor packaging, brain stimulation electrodes and a host of other technologies.
Mr. Jordan�s litigation experience has involved a broad range of intellectual property issues including patent and trademark infringement, as well as unfair competition and breach of contract. He has participated in proceedings before the ITC and at the district court level including the preparation of responses to third party subpoenas, the drafting of substantive and discovery pleadings and the selection and preparation of testifying expert witnesses. Mr. Jordan has also co-edited Unfair Competition and the ITC, a handbook on section 337 practices and procedures. |
