Delight E. Satter, MPH, of Los Angeles, CA, is a tribal member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and is research director for the American Indian and Alaska Native Research Program. Her primary focus is on the health and well-being of urban and rural/reservation American Indians. She has worked on numerous research, programmatic, and policy efforts from a local, state and national perspective. Her interest areas include public health promotion and disease prevention, research and evaluation capacity- building for community-based organizations through participatory methods, racial and ethnic identity and data issues, public health policy and increasing opportunities for minorities in public health. Ms. Satter currently serves on the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Advisory Committee on Minority Health; is President of the American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian Caucus of the American Public Health Association; and serves on the Board of Directors for the Native Research Network, Inc. |
