Denis Heraud is the President of the Asia Pacific Region and is responsible for the overall leadership of the Global Sales and Services organizations. He manages a diverse region that is inclusive of the the following Geographically Established Markets (GEMs); Japan Greater China (Mainland Hong Kong and Taiwan) Asia South (14 countries) Australia and New Zealand Korea and India. Asia Pacific is home to 60 per cent of the world's population.
Heraud's leadership extensive international experience and focus on delivering a consistent integrated and responsive customer experience will contribute to Sun's focus and continued growth in the region.
Heraud joined Sun Microsystems France in 1986 where he spent several years in various sales and marketing roles culminating in his role as Sales Director for emerging markets.
Heraud began his extensive international career when he moved to Hong Kong in 1997 to take on the role of Industry Sales Director for Hong Kong Taiwan and the Mainland China. 1998 saw him move to Budapest as Managing Director of Sun Middle Europe which comprised of Poland Czech Republic Hungary and Slovakia. In 2001 he relocated to Dubai as the Managing Director of the Middle East Africa region. The region was expanded to become the Southern and Eastern EMEA region (SEE) in 2002.
With the establishment of SEE Heraud was appointed President and he relocated to Geneva the new Headquarters for the region. SEE is a region which comprises 40% of the world's land mass and stretches as far East as Siberia and as far south as Cape Town.
Prior to joining Sun Heraud worked for MB Electronics as Sales Manager for Process Automation Products. Heraud holds a Bachelor of Science in Electricity and IT from Ecole Superior de Technologie Electrique in Paris. A French national he is married with 4 sons and his interests include opera scuba diving and skiing.
