Denise C. Reagan, a partner of Cooper, White & Cooper LLP, focuses her practice on commercial litigation and creditors' rights. Her practice includes a broad based background in commercial litigation, including partnership disputes, unfair competition, and landlord/tenant disputes regarding commercial leases. Ms. Reagan has represented creditors in state and federal court contract and fraud actions, real and personal property foreclosure, actions for the recovery of personal property and domestic and international insolvency litigation. Ms. Reagan was part of a litigation team in a contractual arbitration to eject the general partner in a $50 million cellular telephone franchise; her areas of responsibility included the marshaling and assessment of scientific evidence concerning the mapping of radio signal strength and coverage areas, and the direct and cross-examination of expert witnesses. She has also represented a secured creditor in an $80 million action in state court to foreclose on stock pledged as collateral, had a receiver appointed, and represented the secured creditor in an ancillary proceeding filed by the debtor in the United States Bankruptcy Court after the debtor filed a foreign insolvency proceeding. Ms. Reagan is a member of the California Receivers Forum and the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy section of the Bar Association of San Francisco. She was also on the steering committee for the Bay Area Women's Insolvency Network and has volunteered for the Homeless Advocacy Project. Ms. Reagan graduated with honors from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1984 with a B.S. degree in electrical engineering. She received her J.D. degree in 1991 from the University of Virginia School of Law. Ms. Reagan joined Cooper, White & Cooper LLP as a litigation associate in 1992. |
