Ms. Hopkins began her career with SJL Broadcast Management Corp. in 1994 as Executive Assistant to George Lilly at his office in Montecito and is responsible for the day to day operations in that office. In addition to overseeing this business aspect of SJL, Ms. Hopkins is also actively involved in Mr. Lilly�s community outreach, which includes the Gervirtz Graduate School of Education at the University of California Santa Barbara, Boston University�s Los Angeles Initiative, the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, and the SJL Foundation. A native of the state of Washington, she relocated to Santa Barbara in 1979 with Albertsons, Inc., where she had the responsibility for computer operations and price control. An experienced hiker, Denise has hiked in and out of the Grand Canyon, Havasupai Canyon, and most recently conquered Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. In addition, she is an avid swimmer, enjoys kayaking the Santa Barbara coast, and hiking the Santa Barbara foothills. In her spare time she is involved with a small catering business and is an accomplished chef in her own right.
