Denise L. Wheeler was appointed as our General Counsel in July 2007 and previously served as our Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary since February 2004. Prior to joining Cypress, from September 1997 to February 2004, she was an associate in the Cooley Godward business department. Ms. Wheeler practiced primarily in the areas of corporate finance and general corporate representation of life sciences companies. Ms. Wheeler represented both privately-held and public companies in the life science industries in a wide range of transactions, including public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions and technology licensing. Ms. Wheeler received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1997. She completed a Bachelor's degree, cum laude, at Old Dominion University in 1991. Ms. Wheeler is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association and the San Diego County Bar Association. Ms. Wheeler also serves on the board of Neighbor Help, a non profit charitable organization. |
