Dennis A. Williamson was named executive vice president/Chief Financial Officer in February 2006. Williamson joined the Belo corporate office in January 2000 as senior vice president/Television Group with responsibility for the Company's Texas television and cable operations was promoted to senior corporate vice president in January 2003 and became senior corporate vice president/Chief Financial Officer in January 2004. He serves on the Company's Management Committee. In his current position Williamson leads the Company's finance accounting tax treasury enterprise-wide technology investor relations corporate communications and corporate operations functions.
Williamson began his career in 1977 as business manager/controller for Sierra Cascade Communications. In 1979 he became station manager of Sierra Cascade's KTVL in Medford Oregon. In 1981 he was promoted to vice president and general manager of KTVL.
In 1983 Williamson moved to King Broadcasting Company's KREM-TV in Spokane Washington as vice president and general manager. After five years he assumed the same position with King Broadcasting Company's KGW-TV in Portland Oregon. In 1992 he was promoted to president and general manager of KGW a position he held until Belo acquired the station in February 1997. In May of that year he was promoted to president and general manager of Belo's KING-TV in Seattle/Tacoma.
Williamson graduated from the University of Oregon in 1975 with a B.S. degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He has served as a member of the board of directors of NATPE (National Association of Television Program Executives) as President of the Oregon Association of Broadcasters as a member of the CBS Governmental Relations Committee and in various roles with numerous civic organizations. |
