Dr. Dennis J. Murray was named to the Board of Directors of Direct Insite in 2000. He has served as President of Marist College since 1979. During his more than 20-year leadership of Marist, enrollment has doubled and the school has earned a reputation for being one of the top private colleges in the nation. U.S. News & World Report recently ranked Marist in the top tier of colleges and universities in the northeast.
Dr. Murray was one of the first educators in the nation to identify the importance of technology in higher education and it has been a central theme of his tenure as President of Marist. Under his guidance, Marist developed a joint initiative with IBM Corporation. The association has made Marist one of the first institutions of higher education in the country to have a fully networked campus. Forbes has named Marist one of the �25 Most Connected Campuses� in America.
Prior to his appointment at Marist, Dr. Murray taught at the USC School of International and Public Affairs, and served as Director of University Relations and Executive Assistant to the President at California State University, Long Beach, and as Vice President for Development at Whittier College.
He earned his bachelor�s degree in political science from California State University, Long Beach, and his master�s degree and Ph.D. in public administration from the University of Southern California. He is active on a number of Boards of Directors, including the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute and the Greenway Conservancy for the Hudson River Valley.
