Mr. Smith is the Executive Director of the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute at The Ohio State University. He received his degree in health care from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio and has been involved in health care for approximately 30 years, as a biomedical electronics specialist, an open-heart perfusionist, a cardiovascular researcher, a physician�s assistant and an administrator. Prior to joining The Ohio State University, Mr. Smith was Vice-President at Grant Medical Center from 1982-88, where he was involved in initiating the Open Heart Program, the Grant Fitness Center, Sport Medicine Grant, the LifeFlight Trauma Program and other health care services. In late 1988, Mr. Smith joined The Ohio State University as Director of Administration for the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. Over the last 18 years, he has provided administrative leadership in coordinating activities related to opening and successfully implementing The Ohio State University�s nationally recognized cancer hospital. Dennis is Chairman of the board for the Alliance of Dedicated Cancer Centers. He also sits on the boards of the American Cancer Society and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. He is also a member of the American College of Health Care Executives. |
