Hall & Evans has litigated more civil appeals in the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals than any other Colorado law firm as well as more civil appeals before the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Colorado Supreme Court. Devi Yorty is a member of this group. I enjoy the practice of appellate law because you have the opportunity to deal with pure legal issues and, when you are lucky, shape the law itself. In each and every case, you have the opportunity to do positive work for your client and your community. I also love to write. When you do appellate work, writing is the core of your practice. Devi Yorty joined the Appellate Practice Group in 2006. Before that, she served as judicial law clerk to The Honorable Gregory Hobbs, Jr., Supreme Court of Colorado, gaining insight into the inner workings of the appeals process. In this capacity, I assisted with criminal and civil matters that ranged from child abuse to workers compensation to constitutional questions. Each matter not only clarified the law, but put to rest cases that had been making their way through the system, usually for years. By providing finality in the specific cases before us, we made it possible for other cases waiting on the same issues to resolve themselves much faster. While in law school, Devi interned with the U.S. Attorneys Office for the District of Colorado and the Colorado Attorney Generals Consumer Protection Division.MembershipsColorado Bar Association Denver Bar AssociationColorado Trial Lawyers AssociationDefense Research Institute EducationUniversity of Colorado, J.D., 2005 Colorado Law Review Alfred J. As a Colorado native from the Western Slope, I love the Broncos. |
