Ms. Diane M. Schmit joined Computer Technology Services (CTS), Inc. in 1990. Currently Ms. Schmit serves as Program Management Analyst and Lead Web Developer/Designer, responsible for maintaining web pages, including HTML conversions, CGI, site statistics and maintenance on various web platforms, and coordinating the work of various onsite staff members who provide strategic web content management services on contract for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Center for Food Safety and Nutrition (CFSAN). Ms. Schmit holds a B.S. in Chemistry, from the University of California, Los Angeles, CA and an M.A. in Organic Chemistry/Biochemistry from The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. Ms. Schmit has over seven years experience as an information chemist, maintaining an online chemical thesaurus and the automated bibliographic index which it supports, and three years supervising the work of other chemical information specialists. Additionally, Ms. Schmit has ten years of graduate laboratory research experience four years in synthetic organic chemistry and six years in molecular biology/biochemistry resulting in two publications. This overlaps 16 years of experience teaching various levels of organic and general chemistry at the university/college and high school levels. Approximately six years of teaching experience includes the use of computers, course development, and the designing of demonstrations and laboratory activities. |
