Dianne M. Neal is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Reynolds American Inc. She is also executive vice president and chief financial officer for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, a subsidiary of Reynolds American, which manufactures and markets about one-third of the cigarettes sold in the United States.
Neal joined Reynolds Tobacco in 1988 as coupon redemption center prepare/process manager. In 1989 she was named manager - marketing financial services. Between 1991 and 1994 she held the positions of financial manager - budgeting and analysis; financial manager - Vantage/More/NOW business unit; and financial manager - Winston/Camel business unit. In 1994, Neal was promoted to director - financial planning and accounting, and in 1997, was promoted to vice president and controller. In 1999, she was promoted to vice president of investor relations. Neal became executive vice president and chief financial officer of Reynolds Tobacco in July 2003 and of its parent company, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Holdings, Inc. (RJR), in February 2005. RJR became a subsidiary of Reynolds American in July 2004.
Prior to joining Reynolds Tobacco, Neal held accounting positions with Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C. Neal is a certified public accountant (North Carolina).
A native of Charleston, S.C., Neal earned both her bachelor's degree in accounting and master's degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
