Business Litigation
Don C. Stevens II has more than 32 years trial experience in a wide variety of civil litigation, including tort liability, medical malpractice, professional negligence and complex commercial cases. This depth of experience, together with Mr. Stevens' energy and commitment to resolving cases, gives him the credibility to be highly effective with both sides of a dispute. His innovative approach to resolving conflicts and settling disputes extends both to litigated and private matters. Mr. Stevens has over ten years of experience as a private mediator and arbitrator, including service to the Maricopa County Superior Court as a judge pro tem.
An example of Mr. Stevens' problem-solving creativity involved a commercial partnership split, where longtime partners and friends sued each other over division of partnership assets. The litigation had dragged on for several years. Mr. Stevens started the mediation with a champagne toast to friendship and to the future, and by the end of the day, the case was settled on terms that allowed each side to save their relationships.
Mr. Stevens has produced online training segments for the State Bar of Arizona and teaches trial presentation techniques at that organization�s continuing legal education seminars and those of other private CLE providers. He has also presented in-service training for corporations and health care providers on a variety of topics, including documentation and risk management.
Mr. Stevens was asked by the Maricopa County Superior Court to assume primary responsibility for training attorneys on the features of the new electronic courtrooms and has made educational presentations to over a thousand lawyers throughout the State of Arizona on trial techniques.
