Don N. Kleinmuntz, Ph.D., is Executive Vice President at Strata Decision Technology and also holds a part-time position as Research Professor of Policy and Management and of Industrial and Systems Engineering, affiliated with the Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events (CREATE) at the University of Southern California. Dr. Kleinmuntz is a nationally recognized expert in decision and risk analysis, with over twenty-five years of consulting, research, and teaching experience on the use of quantitative models to improve decision making in financial and strategic management settings. Dr. Kleinmuntz received a BA in statistics, MBA, and Ph.D. in business administration, all from the University of Chicago, and previously held faculty positions at MIT, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the University of Texas at Austin. He has won awards for both his research and his teaching, including the University of Illinois Executive MBA Outstanding Instructor Award three years in a row. Dr. Kleinmuntz has consulted to hospitals, multi-hospital healthcare systems, and other healthcare organizations, as well as a a wide variety of other organizations and companies, including the American Hospital Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Arthur Andersen, Caterpillar, Deloitte and Touche, KPMG, Texas Instruments, and several state and federal government agencies. He has published numerous articles and is an active member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). He served as founding Editor-in-Chief of the journal Decision Analysis , and has been elected to the INFORMS Board several times, including serving four years as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance and Investment Committees. He was named a Fellow of INFORMS in recognition of his service to the profession, and is currently serving as President-Elect of the organization. |
