Don Weaver became the General Manager of the Mobile site on 1 July, 2007. Prior to this, Don was General Manager of the Yabucoa site located in Puerto Rico. Previously, Don worked as a consultant on the new PTT PolyCanada plant in Montreal, building on experience gained in the production of PET while working at Altamira, Mexico. Don worked at Altamira from 1996 to 2004, becoming Site Manager in 2001, when operation of the site transferred from Shell Chemical LP to M&G Polymers. Before moving to Mexico, Don worked from 1992 to 1996 in Saudi Arabia for the SADAF joint venture, as Process Engineering Manager. For the previous four years he had been a Process Engineering Group Leader at the Shell Refinery in Martinez, California. Don's career with Shell started in 1981, following graduation from the University of Kansas with a BSc in Chemical Engineering. Married with three children, Don enjoys keeping fit, gardening, swimming, basketball, skiing and other outdoor activities. He is fluent in Spanish. |
