Ms. Sandefur specializes in successful physician practice turn-around's, operational benchmarking and best practice systems. She has designed and implemented MSO delivery systems, new physician start-up programs, and practice assessments. She has provided these services to HMO's, hospitals, single specialty practices, multi-specialty groups, consulting firms, ambulatory care groups and occupational medicine organizations.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for a physician-owed multi-specialty medical group with 300+ physicians and 1400 support staff, which included responsibility for designing management infrastructure and budgets; and operations performance of multiple practice locations during a 3 year turn-around which achieved its operational targets.
Designed and implemented new physician practice start-up program for a large for-profit hospital system, which included physician education, proforma's/budgets for break-even performance in month 13. This program included the set up of an incubator practice containing the latest in "best practice" processes.
Implemented state-of-the-art systems for access, patient flow, patient communication, patient satisfaction, and measurement dashboards within an Academic Medical group of 125 physicians.
Responsible for design, formation, and on-going management of Management Services Organizations (MSO's) for two hospital systems. This included assessment of practices, design of services to be delivered, transitioning of practices into the MSO, and on-going management of the MSO.
Designed and implemented operations systems for PhyCor Inc. to increase practice profitability through revenue enhancement, expense control, and service improvements to six 100+ physician multi-specialty groups.
As President of a consulting company (Med One) delivering services to hospitals, medical practices, and healthcare organizations; performed evaluations and valuations of 40+ medical practices, directed and facilitated the integration of a two-hospital ambulatory care joint venture providing primary care, urgent care, and occupational medicine, performed new physician start-ups, and provided expertise in practice turn-around projects.
