Donald A. Goldman is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP, resident in its Los Angeles office. He is a member of the Management Committee and is partner-in-charge of professional development for the Firm. He is a member of the Firm�s Health Department and has served as counsel to hospital and long-term care clients in a broad range of planning, regulatory, administrative and litigation matters, including hospital physician ventures, Medicare fraud and abuse defense, medical staff relations and bylaws, facilities licensing, hospital-based physician matters and certificate of need. He has concentrated much of his practice in representing clients in Medicare fraud and abuse investigations and the development of corporate compliance programs. He has also represented physicians, dentists and psychologists in professional licensing, Medicare and joint venture matters.
Don is a former deputy attorney general for the State of California representing state agencies such as the Department of Health Services, the Board of Medical Quality Assurance and the Board of Pharmacy. Don is listed as a leading individual in health care in California in Chambers USA 2006 and 2007: America�s Leading Lawyers for Business. For the past three consecutive years, Don was also named a Southern California Super Lawyer by Law & Politics.
Don has spoken and published in the areas of fraud and abuse, medical staff matters and health planning forums such as the American Health Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association.
