Donald F. Don Carter was named vice president of operations for Elizabethtown Gas in August 2005. In this role he is responsible for the operations, management and maintenance of the utility which provides natural gas delivery service to 265,000 residential, business and industrial customers in parts of Union, Middlesex, Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon, Morris and Mercer counties in New Jersey.
Since December 2004, Carter had been region manager for the Elizabethtown Gas Northwest Jersey Service Area with offices in New Village, Flemington and Andover, New Jersey. He has held a number of positions with increasing responsibility throughout his two decades of service with AGL Resources.
Carter, 42, joined Atlanta Gas Light in 1984 after his graduation from the Georgia Institute of Technology with an engineering degree. He earned a masters degree in business administration from Brenau University in 1992 and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Georgia.
While in Georgia, Carter sat on the boards of the Utilities Protection Center of Georgia and the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce and the Gwinnett Council for Quality Growth. He was also active in the Cumming-Forsyth Chamber of Commerce and the Gwinnett United Way Campaign Cabinet.
Carter, his wife, Betty, and their 8-year-old daughter, reside in Long Valley, New Jersey. |
