Donald (Don) J. Marino, Shadow Financial Services� CEO, founded the company in 1997 to provide software products and consulting services to the global investment community. The Company�s flagship product, ShadowSuite, is a complete multi-currency trade processing system designed to support all back-office clearing and accounting activities. The idea for ShadowSuite grew from the knowledge that most financial institutions were struggling to piece together off the shelf packages that only focused on one specific area of the business, or were building in-house systems. Marino assembled a team of his former colleagues and set out to build a product that ran on one platform and would fill all the trading, clearing and accounting needs of the global securities industry. Before founding Shadow Financial, Marino worked as the CIO of Refco, a diversified financial services organization with operations in 14 countries, $20 billion in assets, 3,000 employees and more than 250,000 customer accounts. At Refco, he designed and managed the implementation of a multi-currency brokerage support system as well as a general ledger/financial reporting system. The brokerage system supported trading, prime brokerage and financing as well as full settlements, fail aging and analysis, account valuations, commissions, margins and credit limits. Marino�s experience includes supporting a brokerage firm's trading and operations areas for foreign, domestic and emerging markets in fixed income, equities, commodities, FOREX, metals and various derivative products. |
