Donald S. Furman, M.D., M.B.A. Chief Medical Officer CareMore and CareMore Medical Enterprises Donald S. Furman, M.D., M.B.A. graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's of science degree from American University, located in Washington, D.C., in 1972. After graduation, Dr. Furman attended Detroit's Wayne University School of Medicine and earned his M.D. degree with high distinction in 1976. He then completed a three-year internship and residency program in internal medicine followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at Yale University School of Medicine. He expanded his expertise in 1997, earning an MBA from University of California, Irvine. Dr. Furman entered private practice in 1981 as a Gastroenterologist at Internal Medicine Specialists. He later was appointed President of Internal Medicine Specialists and served until 1998. In addition to his duties at Internal Medicine Specialists, he served as part-time Assistant Medical Director for CareMore Medical Management Company from 1996-1998. In 1998 Dr. Furman left Internal Medicine Specialists to serve as Director of Medical Affairs for CareMore Medical Management Company and served in that capacity until 2001. Since 2001 Dr. Furman has served as Chief Medical Officer for both CareMore and CareMore Medical Enterprises. |
