Dr. Carlton served as the President and Chairman of Radian Corporation, an engineering and technology firm that he co-founded, from 1969 through 1995. In January 1996 he was named CEO of Radian International LLC, a new company formed in partnership with Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company and The Dow Chemical Company. Dr. Carlton retired as CEO on December 31, 1998. Dr. Carlton serves on several corporate boards, include: American Electric Power Company and National Instruments. He was named to the Hall of Honor of the University of Texas College of Natural Sciences in 1992. Dr. Carlton earned a B.A degree from the University of Saint Thomas in 1958 and a PhD. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin in 1962. |
